Jason McCree Gentry grew up in the foothills of North Carolina in the rural town of Elkin. Having a strong affinity for the built environment, he quickly set his eyes on the burgeoning city of Charlotte, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in architecture in 2005 and a Bachelor of Science in architecture in 2006. Jason practiced locally with architecture firms Jenkins•Peer Architects and Perkins+Will, spending a brief time in Seattle, Washington and Atlanta, Georgia before returning home. He has enjoyed watching the Queen City grow and rejuvenate its urban core, becoming the sixteenth most populous city in the United States.
The combination of Jason's architectural background with his real estate skills creates an unprecedented experience and advantage for his customers. He often finds himself sketching or talking clients through how an "almost-perfect" home can match their physical as well as budgetary needs, an extremely important asset in a market with struggling inventory. Additionally, he has a natural affinity for marketing architecturally unique homes, whether they are modern or historic.
Jason lives by a mantra of giving back. Soon after being licensed, he volunteered his time through many of the committees at his local REALTOR® association. He soon began chairing and, subsequently, running for board positions. Most recently, Jason was called to serve his association as the youngest president in the history of one of the country's largest multiple listing services. As executive president, he served the Charlotte Regional REALTOR® Association (CRRA), Carolina Multiple Listing Service (CMLS) and their charitable arm, the Housing Opportunity Foundation (HOF). It was during his tenure that membership grew by more than 30 percent. Jason also serves the National Association of REALTORS® and North Carolina REALTORS® at the national and state levels, respectively.
With so much dedication to the industry, it comes as no surprise that Jason has been recognized in numerous ways in his community. He received the prestigious Vane Mingle Rookie of the Year award in 2011 and was identified as a Rising Star by the North Carolina Association of REALTORS® in 2012. Jason has also received the Committee Chair of the Year award and is a graduate of the CRRA Leadership Academy.
In his free time Jason can be found at his beach home in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, where he is a member of the Kiawah Island Club. He enjoys traveling the world, fine wines and dining, biking, volleyball, the beach, architecture and spending time with friends and family. Professional designations include:
